Ralph, a seasoned professional in the financial institution design/build industry, and Mary Lou, a CPA who was then CFO of a financial institution, had a unique vision on how to do a better job of helping financial institutions improve their businesses. The Graphic Designer collaborates on brand identity, environmental/experiential graphic design, and naming projects at La Macchia Group. This role includes conceptual development and implementation relative to the visual aspects of brand identity and brand experience. The Graphic Designer also works with La Macchia's Studies Department for research findings and the Sales Department to establish overall project goals and objectives for all branding projects. This position has an overall passion for creating graphics that inspire our design team, connects with our clients, and resonates with consumers by performing the following:
Essential Functions include the following:
- Collaborate with branding team to develop naming and identity options that compliment a client’s culture and values, as well as support demographic and market research that result in compelling graphic narratives for our facilities.
Set direction for visual elements that make up a brand showcasing strong quality designs and a sensitivity for typography, color, and form. Collaborate with designers to create an effective branded experience.
Track consumer trends, consumer segmentation, and brand positioning for projects and provide recommendations to help clients achieve brand, business, and financial goals. Also, stay on top of current brand and retail trends as it relates to identity, signage, and environmental graphics.
Provide brand analysis support for the branding department. This would include by not limited to: interviews, surveys, documentation, presentations, charrettes, etc.
Track and maintain client project schedules and scope with design and branding team, including milestones and deliverable deadlines.
Generate graphic elevations and options for each graphic component listed in the Basis of Design. This would be reviewed at the Owner Selection Meetings and finalized with client approval in conjunction with construction project schedules.
Locate and source photography in local markets throughout the country, whether it be commissioned or purchased as stock photography to communicate custom designs as needed.
Assist with branding budgets on projects by helping define the graphic scope for the Basis of Design, generate an estimate that is precise and create graphic placement plans that can be reviewed at owner selection meetings.
Generate graphic production documents that detail client-approved graphics/signage, fabrication requirements and installation methods to ensure a high-level of quality control. This would include providing production-ready art as needed along with coordination of vendors.
Computer Skills: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Microsoft Office. Experience in Google Sketchup preferred by not required.
Education/Experience: Graphic Design degree preferred; Bachelor of Fine Arts or similar four year degree; three to eight years of experience.
