Summary

In 1954, Floyd Carter made it his mission to serve the employees of the International Paper Company in Springhill, Louisiana, making a commitment to improve the financial well-being of others around him. 

Fast forward several decades and Carter Credit Union has been growing steadily for the last ten years.  However, administrative staff were spread out across three separate facilities in Shreveport and Bossier City which made collaboration difficult. Carter turned to La Macchia Group to develop a plan, a design, and to ultimately build the facility they'd been dreaming of. The experts at La Macchia Group helped them determine how much space was needed to house their current and projected staff and to identify an ideal location.   

From a design perspective, the goal was to merge traditional and contemporary styles to give members and employees a flexible and invogorating space.  Daylighting promotes wellness and energy efficiency while the creative application of Carter's award-winning brand makes visitors feel welcome.  Employees enjoy private offices and space to conduct heads down work, host meetings and meet with members. The lounge area combines retail and hospitality amenities and gives members a comfortable place to wait.

The bold exterior architecture and visible branding establishes a presence in the community that solidifies Carter as a recognizable landmark for the people of Shreveport and surrounding areas.
