Updates to existing locations can be just as powerful and provide more value for consumers in that area who love visiting the local branch they've known for many years. Alliance Catholic Credit Union saw value in this and worked with La Macchia Group to update an existing market analysis done in 2017 to evaluate the next move for the credit union's West Bloomfield branch location.
The Challenge
Leadership at Alliance Catholic Credit Union didn't want anything to hold them back in West Bloomfield, including how the interior of the branch looked. In a world where even if your building's aesthetic isn't pulling consumers in, you may not be perceived as modern enough. With prior strategic data and another Alliance Catholic project under its belt, La Macchia Group's design team knew exactly how to carry out the continuation of the credit union's brand in this branch almost 250 miles away from its Shelby, Michigan one.

Craftsmanship At It's Finest
Unique, subtle elements of a brand are not only easily recognizable by brand loyalists, but it ensures their values are well matched to the very organization they support. Being a closed charter credit union that largely serves members of the Catholic community, faith is high on the list of the credit union's priorities and it reminds members of that in every way it can. As seen in this branch, each teller pod is branded with the holy cross, calling attention to the faith of credit union members and reminding them that their financial institution supports it unconditionally. To bring in even more elements of Catholicism, stained glass that one would traditionally see in the Catholic church is present behind the teller pods for further brand reinforcement. Where teller pods are located usually becomes the focus of any bank or credit union space; Alliance Catholic wanted to uniquely bring out this dedicated area as much as it could to differentiate itself from other financial institutions.
Building For A Strong Future Ahead
As challenging as live renovations can be, leading one through the COVID-19 pandemic presented unique challenges in itself. With the utmost care and safety for credit union members, employees and the local subcontractor community of West Bloomfield, La Macchia Group executed on the construction of this project and delivered a refreshed facility of the highest quality on time and on budget, another goal important to the Alliance Catholic team.
