SUMMARY
Kohler Credit Union is one of the largest credit unions in the southeastern Wisconsin area. This steady growing credit union consulted with is design-build partner, La Macchia Group (Milwaukee, WI), on building a medium sized branch and office space that would accommodate both members and staff.
The goal behind the design of Kohler Credit Union’s new Mequon branch was to replicate the signature look and feel of Kohler’s branded image, while keeping in mind the distinctive community fabric during the design development process. To increase the personal connection between members and staff, teller pods were incorporated into the retail-style lobby. This helped create an environment more conducive to having a personalized and more engaged member experience which distinguishes Kohler from other financials in the area.
Tenant spaces were also considered in this design plan that would work as an added benefit to Kohler Credit Union. During the design process of the branch, opportunities for business types whose products and services would mutually benefit Kohler Credit Union members and patrons of the other facility occupants were seen as an excellent community growing strategy that could boost the surrounding area.
