"Can we bring our brand to life in a small, leased space?" Absolutely! And here's how:
Provident Bank’s team set out to serve a new market with an efficient footprint and low cost of entry, yet still needed to ensure the community knew who they were and how they could help. Provident Bank turned to La Macchia Group to marry their objectives and build out the best possible space.
When performing work on commercially leased spaces, tenants are often limited on what they can do, but rather than see limits, the design team at La Macchia Group focused on the positives: with no major work to the site or the building exterior, the interior designers could focus on transforming the inside of the branch.
The Universal Banker Model
To help the Provident Bank team successfully implement a universal banker model, the space was designed around a centrally located area where bankers can sit down with customers to open checking or savings accounts and/or perform other simple transactions. This area also provides room for bankers to service commercial business relationships with small and medium-sized businesses in the community. This branch design and operating model shift was crafted to help the team increase their cross-sell ratio and meet as many customer and client needs as possible.
Brand Connection And Power
With a layout established to serve the new universal banking model, brand integration was next on the list. Upon entry, the customer’s eye is immediately drawn to a “Provident Blue” accent wall with their name and logomark in big, bold lettering. In a new market, overt name recognition is important, but in taking brand integration one step further, La Macchia Group used the bank’s logo to create a graphic on the conference room glass offering both brand reinforcement and visual separation from the lobby. The use of glass walls and partitions also ensures light can travel throughout the small space, making it feel larger and more welcoming. The use of glass also allows customers to see the complimentary orange accent wall that rounds out Provident Bank’s color identity. New furniture and financial equipment completed the equation, ensuring staff and customers alike could get the most out of the compact footprint.
