California Coast Credit Union opened their doors in 1929 to support local educators and universities, and has grown to support over 200,000 members across 26 branches. With a vision of fostering a culture of service and commitment to their community, they continue to provide members with a path to financial success with a supportive branch network. This branch location contributes to their vision in a special way. Dubbed the “Innovation Branch”, this branch is designed to test new technologies for members, a space that is technology-forward, inviting and creative. From their Liquidity Lounge to , members will enjoy an array of integrated technology designed to deepen relationships and promote financial literacy.

When members enter the branch, they are immediately met with an elevated and polished atmosphere. A comfortable member lounge meets the edge of California Coast’s Liquidity Lounge, a complimentary coffee bar for members to enjoy. The right side of the branch features a live plant wall, acting as a partition between the main lobby and the branch theater, a space featuring seating and a digital display. The theater space can be used for presentations and collaboration, while the plant wall and moss wall behind the display work together to bring the outside environment inside. Further into the branch, members will find two ITMs and a social wall; a large interactive digital display for members to use for self service options, branch information, and of course, selfie backgrounds!

The biggest focal point of this Innovation Branch is the Muxwave Aquarium installation. With 186 square feet of Muxwave applied to a curved glass office, the Aquarium is a showstopper. This space uses transparent LED technology applied to glass to appear as a normal digital display from one side, and almost completely transparent from the other! Not only does this contribute to the lobby atmosphere with calming and branded graphics, it allows for 93% of light to enter the office space. The interior of the aquarium is a private office space, featuring a built-in touch table. This touch table makes it easy to show members paperwork and obtain e-signatures, all digitally.

Near the back of the branch is the Innovation Lab, a lounge setup with a digital display where members can test out the latest technology California Coast Credit Union is working on deploying across their branch network. Each space throughout this branch is equipped with acoustical ceiling elements to provide a sense of separation and privacy, while still ensuring the layout was bright and airy.

At its core, the Innovation Branch represents a new chapter for California Coast Credit Union, one where innovation and connection go hand in hand. By creating a space that invites exploration, encourages learning, and prioritizes member comfort, this location sets a new standard for what a branch can be.
