SUMMARY

Since 1955, Fitzsimons Credit Union has been serving the Denver, Colorado area. Originally founded as Fitzsimons Army Hospital Federal Credit Union, the goal was to serve active service members, local veterans, and healthcare workers of Fitzsimons Army Hospital. After the closure of the hospital in 1995, Fitzsimons became a community charter serving Aurora, Colorado. In 2020, they expanded their charter to include those who live, work, worship, or attend school in Adams, Arapahoe, and Denver Counties. Seeing this growth, it was time for Fitzsimons to update their current location in Aurora, Colorado.

Fitzsimons Credit Union worked with La Macchia Group to reimagine their current space.  Understanding their desire to remain open for their members and employees, La Macchia Group facilitated a live remodel which would allow for uninterrupted business to continue while the updates were made.

Throughout the entire process, La Macchia demonstrated professionalism and provided reassurance, starting from the design phase, and extending through to the construction phase. La Macchia invested time in understanding our credit union, fostering cooperation, and readily addressing any questions or changes we presented.

While considering their remodel, Fitzsimons wanted to allocate areas for all the different ways their members transact. With that in mind, a branded interactive teller machine (ITM) was incorporated, as well as an in-person teller pod, both of which offer personalized convenience to perform member transactions big and small. For more in-depth transactions, the use of built-in desk furniture with branded partitions were installed to provide semi-private member service representative offices.

The branded elements within this space also played a major role in the update. Repeated use of the logo's flag shape was used within the lobby including a bold representation on the ceiling, within glasswork, fabric choices, and flooring. In addition, the incorporation of red and blue wall paint adds a bold backdrop to the modernized environment.

La Macchia Group prides itself on not only building spaces with the highest degree of excellence, but also building lasting partnerships through professionalism and transparency.

When asked about the design/build process, Robert M. Fryberger Jr., President and CEO of Fitzsimons Credit Union said, "Throughout the entire process, La Macchia demonstrated professionalism and provided reassurance, starting from the design phase, and extending through to the construction phase. La Macchia invested time in understanding our credit union, fostering cooperation, and readily addressing any questions or changes we presented. The incorporation of personal community aspects into the branch added a unique and meaningful touch."

Fryberger goes on to say, "Effective communication played a pivotal role in the success of this project. La Macchia maintained a well-organized approach with key contacts from marketing, design, and construction. Regular updates were provided, and responsiveness to our queries was commendable."

Overall, the space is exciting, engaging and most importantly, convenient and efficient. No matter how their members choose to do business, the reimagined design will continue to serve for years to come.
