NorthStar Credit Union has evolved over the years since founded in 1971 to better serve the financial needs of new employer groups and communities. With member satisfaction at the forefront, NorthStar partnered with La Macchia Group to build a new branch, from the ground up, in a new city. La Macchia Group, of course thrilled to take on this challenge, designed a concept while carefully thinking about how to incorporate the NorthStar brand at every consumer touchpoint. Elements of the NorthStar brand were strategically placed inside and out of the building to catch the eyes of potential new membership passing by in the Aurora, Illinois community.
With the imminent challenges of property setbacks, the building had to be farther from the road than anyone would normally like. NorthStar took that challenge and made it a goal to create a high profile, high impact branch so people driving by knew they were there and ready to serve them. While also being located on a corner lot, NorthStar wanted to take advantage of two prominent views (west and south facing) of their building. The La Macchia Group design team helped NorthStar do just that through elements of exterior branding, signage and pops of color on a neutral palette to increase visibility from the road. This would help support NorthStar's vision for growth and help them better support existing members while increasing membership with a full-service branch.
Adding this new, full-service location to NorthStar's growing branch network was a smart decision considering their previous space had a much smaller storefront. This location and its access gives NorthStar a wonderful opportunity to make a statement while providing valuable financial services to current and future membership.
