PCM Employee Credit Union was utilizing a nearly 20 year old facility with a traditional look and feel. PCMCU President Dan Wollin had a desire to provide members with faster transactions, greater comfort and a state-of-the-art branch experience. Dan knew a lot had changed in 20 years, so he turned to La Macchia Group, a trusted partner, to collaborate and inspire a truly unique credit union experience.
PCM Employee Credit Union revamped their Credit Union with a new name, brand and retail branch. PCM Credit Union optimized their current namesake while giving birth to a new brand – People Caring More (PCM). Marrying new state-of-the-art technology with old fashioned credit union values creates an innovative and moving financial transaction experience; exactly what is expressed and felt upon entering PCMCU.
We started with a blank sheet of paper and there’s no doubt La Macchia Group has their stamp on this building. Had we gone with somebody else, it would not be what it is today...members conducting financial business at the new location will have the best there is!
- DAN WOLLIN, CEO, PCM CREDIT UNION
La Macchia Group designed the 12,276 square foot, single level, open concept facility to ensure members will have easy access to all staff and resource areas; a feature that was important to CEO Dan Wollin. The dramatically lit canopied entrance extending out to the parking lot creates a warm and welcoming feeling. Once inside the new state-of-the-art lobby members will smell Starbucks brand coffee brewing and see the Relax, Enjoy and Learn areas throughout. While inside, members may also catch a glimpse of the wooded lot with great views of Duck Creek and various wildlife. Their new brand People Caring More, created by La Macchia Group’s Branding Team, is integrated throughout the modern lobby by way of plasma screens featuring employees sharing information about themselves and product offerings. The welcoming and comfortable Relax, Enjoy and Learn areas deliver internet stations and resource centers promoting financial literacy for young and old alike. What better way to showcase that PCMCU really does care more than through the creation of a green building?
La Macchia Group installed geothermal wells that are each over 300 feet deep. At that depth, the temperature of the earth and groundwater remain constant at around 55 degrees, allowing the system to save the Credit Union operating costs over a conventional HVAC system. In addition to many other green elements, the Credit Union features solid surfaces made from recycled paper and resin, and the flooring is 97% organic based.
