Founded in 1883, Union County Savings Bank has proudly served the communities of Union and Essex in New Jersey for over 140 years. With four branches and a deep-rooted commitment to personalized banking, UCSB continues to build lasting relationships across generations. When they approached La Macchia Group, the goal was clear: to create a modern, branded environment that speaks to both their long-standing customers and the future of community banking.

Union County Savings Bank was looking to generate strong brand recognition with this branch renovation, which the teams achieved by incorporating bold and modern design elements that reflect their identity while creating a space that welcomes both existing and new customers. The branch design has a very open footprint, allowing for ease of movement and a welcoming, light feel. The offices lining the perimeter of the lobby feature glass doors, allowing for privacy when needed, but still attributing to the open footprint.

Brand colors can be found woven throughout the space from carpeting to accent walls. Union County Savings Bank's logo can be found placed strategically, reinforcing their brand. A curved wall was added to the lobby area, mirroring their logo's curve, while also helping to integrate technology into the space. If a customer happens to look up while taking advantage of the comfortable lounge, they may notice the ceiling tiles not only mimicking aspects of UCSB's logo, but directing visitors right to the oversized teller pod to speak with a banker.

Moving from traditional promotional posters, the teams decided to integrate digital displays throughout the branch to better appeal to a younger demographic. The wall behind the oversized teller pod features a four-panel digital display used to showcase community events and the bank's constant involvement, while the display on the curved wall features loan rates, interest rates, and real-time content for visitors to stay informed with. 

This project was more than a renovation, it's a strategic move for Union County Savings Bank, and their future. Their integrated technology, bold brand, and updated branch act as a commitment to their staff, customers, and their long history of serving the community.
