SUMMARY

Compass Community Credit Union was looking to expand beyond its corporate office and provide more conveniences to its thriving membership. As a part of its robust growth initiative, it looked to open a location in Arcata and another location in Eureka to better connect with the people of Humboldt county.

Meanwhile, the credit union was just finishing up a rebrand and name change that provided inspiration for the overall branch experience and look. The Eureka project leveraged the strategic prototype design of Arcata, and La Macchia Group repurposed the existing building with minimal floor plan changes but maximum brand impact.

Through thoughtful use of the credit union’s new brand colors on both the interior and exterior of the building, Compass Community Credit Union quickly became an attractive addition to its community that produced immediate results. For the Humboldt community, brand recognition was going to be critical at re-establishing this credit union in a competitive market full of financial institutions all fighting for consumer attention. Having a prototype design and consistency across its network will without a doubt help Compass Community CU retain and reacquire its members through thoughtful service, high engagement, and convenience which consumers aggressively demand.
