Hughes Federal Credit Union partnered with La Macchia Group to design and build a new prototype branch in an up-and-coming neighborhood in Tucson, AZ. With a high-traffic location prime for new member growth and convenient commuter access, the Hughes and La Macchia Group teams set out to create a sense of connection to the main branch. Hughes’ branded image was thoughtfully incorporated throughout the exterior building materials, signage and lighting. From the moment they pulled in, members would have a sense of familiarity and continuity in their experience.
While Hughes wanted to connect the new branch to the existing brand, they also wanted to be a market trailblazer in leveraging new and innovative technologies that would not only grab the attention of potential members, but also set a high hurdle for other financial institutions looking to enter the area. Technology wasn’t just sprinkled throughout the branch, but rather was used to amplify the Hughes brand and engage members throughout their entire experience. La Macchia Group introduced a 60-foot video projector wall visible from the exterior to feature the Hughes logo and to create a sense of mood and movement inside the branch. Customizable marketing monitors within teller pods were implemented to showcase products and services in exciting ways, while iPad and charging stations were placed in convenient locations to help members make the most of their time while at the branch.
