Salt City Federal Credit Union, formerly ACMG FCU, sought the help of La Macchia Group to update their Solvay, New York branch. With a history dating back to 1953, this credit union originated in an old shoe store of the Solvay plant for Allied Chemical & Dye Corp. From serving 28 employee members in 1953, to serving multiple cities and counties in 2025 under the new name Salt City FCU, it was critical that their branches reflected their new brand and communities they serve.
Not only did Salt City want to incorporate their new brand into this space, they wanted to give members a functional and modern space while still providing the warmth and authenticity that members are accustomed to. Natural wood tones, river stones and natural rock elements are strategically woven throughout the branch, reflecting the essence of Salt City FCU's new brand identity. These elements work together to create a grounded and welcoming atmosphere for members to enjoy while working with staff.
Dedicated to their loyal members and community, historical imagery is placed throughout, highlighting Salt City's local legacy and honoring the community's rich past while looking confidently toward the future. Above the open meeting spaces, modern baffles with lighting were installed, providing improved acoustics and added privacy while having financial conversations.
The transformation of Salt City Federal Credit Union's Solvay branch is a thoughtful blend of history and their bright future. Intentional design choices reflecting their new brand and the natural beauty and heritage of their communities stand as a testament to their commitment to their membership.
