Ventura County Credit Union (VCCU) opened their doors in 1950, under a stairwell in the county courthouse. This credit union, once ran by a few employees and one cash drawer, now serves over 70,000 members across seven cities! When VCCU set its sights on expanding into Camarillo, California, the location chosen presented the opportunity to connect with even more of Ventura County. The site, an iconic and well-recognized building, carried existing visual weight and civic familiarity with the community already, making this VCCU's chance to solidify their brand in Camarillo. The team needed to honor this building, while still giving their members a modern and comprehensive space to visit.

The floorplan of this new branch is airy and bright, with branding throughout the whole space. Featuring a combination of private offices and open offices, as well as multiple lounge-style seating areas for members, this open concept floorplan allows for countless areas for bankers to connect with visiting members. The teller desk faces the lobby, creating an immediate point of connection upon entry and allowing staff to warmly greet members as they arrive. This layout supports both quick transactions and more in-depth conversations, ensuring members feel welcomed, comfortable, and supported throughout their visit.

Ventura County Credit Union's brand is vibrant and recognizable, and the regional identity of Ventura County is celebrated throughout the interior. A large-scale citrus graphic references the agricultural legacy that defines this part of California, while a checkerboard wall is populated with curated imagery of recognizable Ventura County icons alongside candid portraits selected to reflect the diversity of the membership. Each portrait was chosen not only for its representation of community but for its embedded visual connection to the "V" motif, creating a sophisticated layer of brand continuity within the photography itself.

Together, these elements create a branch that is both a reflection of Ventura County Credit Union’s legacy and a confident step into its future. By thoughtfully honoring the character of the building and weaving the spirit of the community into every design detail, the Camarillo branch becomes more than just a place to conduct financial transactions, it becomes a place where members feel recognized, welcomed, and connected.
