Under One Roof and On The Same Page

by La Macchia Group

One of the key elements that makes La Macchia Group’s process so seamless is our “Under One Roof” approach. Unlike traditional models that require multiple vendors and handoffs, we bring planning, branding, design, construction, and technology together under one roof to ensure alignment from the very first conversation to the final walk-through. While every member of our team plays an important role, our project managers are the thread that ties it all together.

The project managers guide projects from start to finish, bridging internal teams and client communication to keep everything running smoothly and on schedule. To better understand how this integrated model comes to life, we sat down with Channing Boe, Project Manager, to hear how our "under one roof" makes a difference with every project.

Q: Can you describe your role as a project manager at La Macchia Group?
A: From the very beginning, I’m involved in conceptual design, sitting in on early meetings with both our internal teams and the client, taking notes, and keeping a close eye on how the design aligns with budget. I work with the teams to present updated budgets as the design evolves, help facilitate bidding and permitting, and eventually move into the construction phase where I get even more hands-on, developing schedules, managing subcontractors, and weekly client meetings. I’m basically there from start to finish, doing everything I can to keep things on time and on budget.
It’s a unique role that involves a lot of travel, and I really enjoy working directly with clients, and finding ways to make sure every project goes as smoothly as possible.

Q: How does having all services under one roof impact your day-to-day work?
A: It makes a big difference. I’ve worked under different delivery models in the past, and the process we use here is a huge advantage. Having everyone in-house helps us, and our clients with communication, resolving issues, and getting answers to questions quickly. When we’re all on the same page, it helps both with collaboration and ensuring we stick to our client’s budget, our priorities are aligned.

Q. Can you walk me through the collaboration process between La Macchia Group and the financial institution we’re working on a project with?
A: The project management team gets involved as soon as possible when a new project starts. From conceptual design, strategic market analyses, even the groundbreaking ceremonies, we are ready to be a point of contact for our clients. The weekly meetings we have with clients are really important to help build a solid relationship. We have dedicated meetings for things like construction estimate reviews, but there’s also a constant back-and-forth happening. That ongoing collaboration makes the client more comfortable and more confident in the process.

Q: Can you share a moment when our integrated structure helped avoid a problem?
A: Having all services under one roof helps avoid a lot of communication and admin type of issues. If a team member is pulled to another project, there is no concern from the client. Given that our architects or interior designers work just a few steps from one another, it makes it that much easier to give background on a project. Whereas, if our client was working with a separate entity for interior design and had to replace them, that integration into the project would certainly be a concern.

Q: In your experience, how do clients benefit from working with one unified team rather than multiple vendors?
A: It really builds a strong relationship between the client’s teams and ours. The weekly updates and meetings combined with the consistent team effort really strengthens the growing relationship.

Q: If a potential client asked you why “under one roof” matters, what would you tell them?
A: With everything being under one roof, there is an ease of coordination. It eliminates the idea of “finger-pointing” from one vendor towards another that ends up adding time onto a project. It helps everyone stay aligned knowing we are all working together towards one common goal.

From tighter collaboration and smoother communication to faster problem-solving and stronger client relationships, our integrated model is designed to deliver excellence at every stage. With integrated project managers guiding the process, our clients gain a trusted partner who understands their vision and is committed to bringing it to life on time and on budget. It’s more than a project; it’s a partnership built on alignment.
